GE Refrigerator Evaporator motors handle air circulating in the freezer cabinet, which then also affects airflow to the refrigerator. A poorly running or dead fan typically means the refrigerator will not cool well - either little airflow will reach the refrigerator cabinet, or at all.

GE Evaporator Motors are rather specific to the refrigerator due to the wiring harness and additional components that are included with the fan such as a thermistor or defrost thermostat, so make sure the motor you purchase has the correct harness. 

WR60X10307 is an alternative with a little bit shorter of a wire harness. Maybe provided instead of the WR60X10074 if stock runs out.
